The Denver metro area has no shortage of concrete contractors. What’s harder to find is a crew that brings the same standards to a residential driveway that they bring to a commercial slab or a municipal right-of-way project — because those standards aren’t the same thing when a contractor is cutting corners on the residential side to compete on price.
Guizar Concrete Construction operates at a commercial level on every project, regardless of scope. That means proper subbase preparation, mix designs appropriate for Colorado’s freeze-thaw conditions, correct joint placement, and inspections handled — not avoided. We’ve been doing this work across the Denver metro since 2015, on projects ranging from residential flatwork to municipal right-of-way and everything in between.
Residential and Commercial Concrete Services
Our work spans the full range of concrete applications. On the residential side: driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage aprons, RV pads, and general flatwork. On the commercial side: parking lots, loading dock aprons, warehouse and industrial floors, site concrete, and commercial curb and gutter. We also handle municipal and right-of-way work — sidewalks, curb ramps, curb and gutter, and public infrastructure concrete that gets inspected by the city and has to be built to spec.
That range matters. A contractor who’s only ever done residential driveways is guessing when the job requires commercial tolerances or public works spec compliance. We’re not guessing — we’ve done the work.
What We Bring to Every Project
We are fully insured and carry commercial-level coverage on all work — residential included. We handle permitting where it’s required and coordinate inspections when they’re part of the scope. We’re bilingual, which keeps communication clean on job sites where English and Spanish are both in use. And ownership is directly involved in estimating, planning, and oversight — so the person responsible for the quality of the work isn’t three layers removed from what’s actually happening on site.
We don’t oversell what we do. If a repair is the right call, we’ll tell you. If replacement is what the job actually needs, we’ll tell you that instead. The goal is work that performs well after we leave, not a sale.
Built for Colorado Conditions
Concrete work in the Denver metro comes with variables that a lot of contractors underestimate or ignore. The Front Range has heavy clay soils in most neighborhoods — the kind that moves with moisture and temperature changes. Add Colorado’s freeze-thaw cycles and 40-degree temperature swings in a single day and you’ve got conditions that will expose any shortcut in the subbase or the mix. We account for those conditions as a baseline, not as an afterthought.

Common Questions
How long should a concrete driveway last in Denver?
A properly installed concrete driveway in the Denver metro should hold up for 25–30 years with basic maintenance. The biggest variables are subbase preparation, the concrete mix design, and curing — and all three matter more in Colorado than in milder climates. Denver’s freeze-thaw cycles drive early cracking when any of those are done wrong. The surface needs to be air-entrained for outdoor applications, properly cured, and sealed. One thing most homeowners don’t hear: avoid de-icers with ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate — they’re hard on concrete. Sand is safer for the first couple of winters.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. We handle permitting where it’s required — which in the Denver metro includes many driveway replacements, any right-of-way work, and most commercial projects. We’re familiar with the requirements across the municipalities we work in and factor that into project planning from the start, not as an afterthought once work is underway.
What areas do you serve?
We cover the Denver metro broadly — Thornton, Brighton, Aurora, Commerce City, Westminster, Arvada, Lakewood, Centennial, Englewood, and surrounding areas. Our base is in Hudson but we’re on job sites across the metro regularly. If you’re not sure whether we work in your area, call us (720) 206-7617.
