How long should a concrete driveway last in Denver?

A properly installed concrete driveway in the Denver metro should hold up for 25–30 years with basic maintenance. The biggest variables are subbase preparation, the concrete mix design, and curing — and all three matter more in Colorado than in milder climates. Denver’s freeze-thaw cycles drive early cracking when any of those are done wrong. The surface needs to be air-entrained for outdoor applications, properly cured, and sealed. One thing most homeowners don’t hear: avoid de-icers with ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate — they’re hard on concrete. Sand is safer for the first couple of winters.
